Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how CIOS Technology AG ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on cios.app. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

We operate on a consent-first basis. When you first visit our site, only strictly necessary technologies are active. Non-essential cookies — including those set by our live chat and analytics provider, Zoho SalesIQ — are loaded only after you give your consent. This is in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the ePrivacy Directive.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the button below or the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as your browser's local storage — can store small amounts of data on your device for comparable purposes. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this policy.

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by a third-party service we use (third-party cookies). They may last only for your browsing session (session cookies) or remain for a defined period (persistent cookies).

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary (always active)

These are required for the website to function securely and to remember your privacy choices. They do not require consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. They do not track you for advertising.

2.2 Live Chat & Analytics — Zoho SalesIQ (consent required)

With your consent, we load Zoho SalesIQ, which provides our live chat widget and measures how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, approximate location derived from IP, and similar). SalesIQ sets its own first- and third-party cookies and uses browser storage. Data is processed in Zoho's European Union data centre. These technologies are not active until you accept them, and the exact cookies set may vary as Zoho updates its product.

For the authoritative, always-current list, see Zoho's own reference: Cookies set by Zoho SalesIQ and the Zoho Privacy Policy. Additional cookies may be set if optional features (e.g. email-campaign or Mailchimp tracking) are enabled. Zoho acts as our data processor for this service; see our Sub-Processors page.

3. Legal Basis

We rely on the following legal bases for cookies and similar technologies:

4. Managing Your Consent

You can manage cookies in several ways:

If you reject the non-essential category, the Zoho SalesIQ chat and analytics will not load, and no SalesIQ cookies will be set.

5. International Data Transfers

Zoho SalesIQ data for cios.app is processed in Zoho's European Union data centre. Where any onward transfer to a country outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland occurs, it is governed by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal reasons. When we make a material change, we update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, ask you to renew your consent.
